What the heck. I'll jump in.

I'd say definitively that it's a '67 122.

Looks like its got US plates.

Has silver VOLVO letters.

Does not have head rests, bow tie steering wheel, or reflectors of a '68.

Looks like original paint.. dark green. That would be appropriate for a '67, but not a '66.

Mirrors are wrong for a 123GT, and I don't see remains of a tach, so don't get your hopes up about that (plus wrong steering wheel).

Yep, '67 122s coupe. Nice looking car!

Thanks a lot. Sounds good to me. I haven't looked at the car in person. I saw the ad on a local craigslist. I doubt I'll look into it as it appears to be more project than I can handle (financialy).

It would be cool th have though...

If anyone wants to know more about the car send me an e-mail and I'll give you the location of the car.

I'll vote for 1967 120-130

I had a '67 122S (two door 'sport' model with dual carbs) for 15 years. Mine had silver lettering on the hood and washer nozzles as noted by another poster.

Do you know why it doesn't run? A solid chassis (meaning no significant rust or bondo) with an intact interior and drivetrain (but a bum motor) is probably worth $500-$1000 depending on where you are in the USA.

If you do not know what other troubles lurk under the hood (or the floors), and it may be hard for anyone to tell until they really get into the car, I would offer a few hundred (figure scrap value of the metal) plus DMV fees.

It is a 122, 1964 or later.
Look at the aluminum tag on top of the box to which the brake and clutch master cylinders are bolted.
One of the numbers should start with 122 and one should be marked "chassis"
With those numbers we can probably isolate the year.

O.K. thanks. What kind of price would I expect to pay for something in this condition? It has straight body, interior is in need of repair, engine non-running.

Two hundred bucks,,,MAX!!! Even if you do all the work yourself you'll have easy 6 to 8 grand to put it back in good daily driver condition (not a garage queen)..

On top of this you do not have any idea of the condition of the tranny and rear-end...this to me is a HIGH risk car,, Good Luck

After reading this reply of mine, I changed my mind,, for me this car is worth
- (minus) $1000...,., You will have to pay me $1000 to take it if I am going to restore it and even at that it's ifffffy......

If the "volvo" letters on the front of the hood are silver, and hood is original, its a 1967 or 1968.

Value can vary a bit regionally. If the frame and floors are as solid as the rest of the body looks and not badly damaged from past accidents you have a great starting point in my opinion. West coast worth less. Rust belt worth more.

Interiors can be pricey new but decent used can be found. Plenty of engines and other mechanicals left.

Where is it located? If its a canadian or european model it coould be a 69 or 70 but not likely.

Hello,

A 122 with silver hood letters, a hood mounted windshield washer nozzle, 2 color front turn signal lenses should make it a 1967 122.

A 1968 USA delivery 122 would have all yellow front turn signal lenses and side reflector lenses on the front fenders and rear quarter panels.

A non running 122 is not worth much unless you know for a fact that there is nothing else wrong.

If it has sat not running for over a couple of years, then the brakes have to be suspect as well as the clutch hydraulics if it is manual or expect problems with the automatic transmission if so equipped.

Do the floors or outriggers under the floors have rust?

How old are the tires? FYI, tires made since the 1990's have a date code.

Agreed it's a '67, but it may have been originally sold and titled as a '68. I know, because I bought one new, under exactly those circumstances. Hell, that may be my car... it was dark green! Any evidence of a rollover repair??? :)

BTW Eric, I sold tires for a living back then, so I can say with a fair amount of confidence that the date code on tires goes back to the 70's at least.
