re: 87 245 auto - cleaning pinch weld area 200 1987

Hi all,

With my luck, I was able to remove my windshield without cracking. I would like to remove this black gunk completely so that I can treat few rust spots.

Q1. How can I tell if this is old butyl rubber sealant or urethane?

Q2. And what should I use to clean them off?

Q3. Should I use this "3M 08609 Window-Weld Super Fast Urethane Black Cartridge" to seal back on?

Thank you as always.
