The one thing that comes to mind about the 700/900 cars is that certain years have the quirky Yasaki speedometer - pretty much sure to freak out at some point, but can sometimes be fixed it you're handy with a soldering iron. My 92 745 suffered that problem. I used a GPS for a speedo.
Other than that, possibly one of the world's best all around cars.
Non-turbo = one less thing to go wrong. Possibly longer head gasket life also. It won't exactly snap your neck when accelerating but, personally, I'd take it over a turbo. But my priorities are different than other people's.
