When I had the cluster out to replace the odometer gears, I found that there was a (not sure what to call it) "lever" that, if pushed, it won't engage the clock work that drives the service reminder. It's right where the cable from the reset button protrudes at the end of its conduit. Now my odometer works fine, and the service reminder doesn't come on -- yet the bulb only lights on startup, as it should.
