A/C fan intermittently working S90-V90 1998

have a fan problem it seems.

A/C is refilled.
The Blower fan works sometimes. Not consistently and with no rhyme or reason.

Spoke with mechanic and he said something about a low-pressure-switch (LPS). That if there is low pressure the A/C fan will not work.

Is there a relay or fuse or something that I should check?

The fan obviously works well, when it works.

Anything else???

Thank you -

Hello, it sounds like when you hit a bump in the road it might work? Remove the lower panel and tap it with a rubber hammer, does it come back on? Sounds like your fan motor is toast. Remove glove compartment to get to it.

As the car gets older the wear in the compressor begins to show by the compressor struggling to keep the car cool, when the ac is only slightly low. Typical shops don't charge the system up enough (about 40lbs) to keep it from cutting out. I had this same problem, bypassed the compressor sensor, re-soldered the connections in the ac relay, nothing worked. Then I got some 134a freon from the local autoparts shop and filled it up to more like 50lbs and the problem went away, never have had it again and it's been 4 years now. A friend of mine had the same problem on his v90, and did the same thing as me and it worked on his as well.

Now I just check it every now and then like checking the oil.

I believe the low pressure switch is on the back of the compressor. You can Google it and find the instructions to by pass it!!
