Before ripping the dash apart--have you removed the arms to observe the posts movement? -- or watched them from under the dash. The nuts that hold the arms on tend to loosen-then the splines wear out-then the owner tightens them too much-then the base of the arms crack and no amount of tightening will get them secured. -- Dave
