put an 84 2.3 engine in a 76 240 wagon 200

I have a 76 wagon with an almost perfect body, engine a little tired, a friend has an 84 with an excellent motor...how difficult would it be to transplant the 84 engine into the 76?

thanks in advance for any and all ideas,

Kris

I did a very similar swap, except with turbo motors. You will have an issue with the injectors. I just made a bracket to hold the injectors in the B23 holes and they worked fine. A trip to the hardware store for different o rings will be required. There are also not enough holes in the B23 for all the Kjet sensors. I got by with the minimum. The CIS temp sensor, And the cold start switch was clamped to a heater tube on the back of the engine. I then put a switch on the dash for the Lamda temp switch. When the engine was cold I just flipped the switch and left it on for a couple of minutes. Now that I think of it the intake manifold is different with the NA models making it hard to use the K jet.
Are you able to swap the FI along with the engine?

I would prefer swapping in the fuel injection system also but I seem to remember doing something very similar and I swapped out the entire fuel system ; lines and pumps etc. Maybe I wait for a B21 to show up somewhere.

Save yourself the aggravation and just start using Lucas Oil Stabilizer at each and every oil change. It'll turn the previously "little tired" engine into a racehorse.
