Overdrive 200 1991

Hi Marty,

You may be tired of going under that car, so try this on the OD:

(1) Pull the glovebox. (yes I know you've probably got it out anyway swapping relays)

(2) Unplug the relay, shut the doors and turn the key to KP-II

(3) Locate pins 15 (blue/black)and 87 (white) on the socket. Use a large paper clip to jump 15 to 87 intermittently.

(4) What you are looking for is a tiny spark when you pull the clip off of the terminals. What you are listening for is a clunk beneath you from the solenoid.

Here's a map in case you want to trace the juice with your test light.





BTW, if you don't need the OD lockout, and the paper clip does actuate the solenoid, try driving it with the paper clip in place of the relay. Saves using a relay if 4th gear works again.
