Mystery fitting –– any guesses? 200

I was under my car yesterday and happened to look up while running some wire to see a brass fitting that looks like it should have a hose attached to it, but doesn't.

It's located towards the firewall on the passenger side. I've searched my green books DVD and can't seem to find it.

Any word on what this is? And, perhaps more importantly, what should go there?

Can you shed some light on the oil filter relocation item on the photo you posted? That is sharp looking.

    Bob is correct.

    Block drain.

Nothing should go there unless of course you happen to want to partially drain the coolant in which case a short length of small diameter flexible tubing can direct it into a suitable container.

It helps to open the overflow tank.

I think it's the rear coolant drain cock to allow a more complete emptying of the cooling system.

Nice! Wow! That simply looks nice!

Watcha buildin' there what with the oil filter relocation kit doo-hickey?

And remember, when mixing up new coolant with anti-freeze, always use distilled, demineralized, or deionized water. Never tap water! Well, unless you gots teh premix!

        Yet you already know that.

        Happy Holidays!
