In the Northeast it would unfortunately be very tough to sell at anything more than $400-500. People around these parts wont even buy cars with 200kmi for much more than scrap value. And the appreciation of the 240s is quickly eroding, and I always hear how expensive they are to maintain being Volvos. Folks wrongly just assume parts are more expensive than the POS new GM they drive. So many of the masses do not have he slightest desire or ability to do even the most basic maintenance themselves anymore. Yes, if you take an old 240 to the dealer you will be raped. It is a shame, because the old Volvos are probably the most economical and simple cars to maintain for anyone with even basic skills, but these days folks have fallen victim to the disgusting idea sold to them by their wonderful government that you should always have car payments and always have a new car so the ridiculous amount of cars clogging the pipeline that the good unions produce, can have a place to go to keep the pension farce, and the illusion of prosperity alive. Oh yeah, and you should keep with the Joneses' at any cost as well... :)
Best of luck finding a home for your 240. I cringe when so many of these cars in nice shape are crushed because of a simple low dollar repair that the owners didn't know how to address....
