Vintage Performance Development problems 120-130

One of the posts mentioned that John Parker blows hot and cold. He has had my B18 cylinder head for nearly 6 months for 'inspection and placing hardened seats' I have not been able to get it returned, fortunately I have not paid him and I don't know if he actually has worked on it. Just keeps making excuses. Too bad because he did send me the suspension kit and new pistons and camshafts. I'm done with him and I'm looking for other members that have had bad experiences with him.

      For what it's worth I purchased a set of coils springs for my 122s a couple years ago. I believe that he had a set sitting around that someone had returned for being too low. Fortunately they were exactly what I wanted.
      So in my case, he was prompt and communicative.
      I have heard many many negative things about John and his business practices but I can only report my personal experience which was entirely positive.

        The only reason that you had a positive experience with this crook is because he had the springs in his hand and you had the credit card in yours and if he did not ship in time you would of complained to your credit card company. But in other peoples case they sent this guy parts to be repaired and got screwed!!! I have two friends that got screwed by this guy with parts sent in to be upgraded and fixed..

          I have no doubt about the negative experiences that have been reported and I do count myself VERY lucky in light of all the bad reports. Just wanted to throw in my $0.02. I would be pretty hesitant to send parts in for repair and I NEVER deal with faraway strangers on the internet using any form of payment other than credit card.

    Time to take a drive to Syracuse and pick up your stuff..............

    His webpage certainly shows he keeps it somewhat updated.........but not his customers.

    Post on Yelp, Google+, and any site that lists his business and write a negative review. Perhaps facebook and you name it.

    Simply search for Vintage Performance Developments and John Parker. His name comes up, and not in a nice way, for other Europa makes and models where some have done work for him and he's not followed through.

    So, write your opinion. Warn away other that have suffered this person's poor something something.

    Also, folks should post to the BBB!!!

    I read complaints about John Parker, yet I'll not ever race again or do performance upgrades, yet no one posts to social media or to the BBB. So, to either get this guy to follow through, or warn away other from getting screwed by John Parker and his Vintage Performance Developments, use the available means to get him to follow through, get you parts and money back, and / or warn away others.

    You also have more than a few threads on this John Parker matter brickboard alone.

    You won't have to look far. I have no personal experience with him and certainly don't want any, but plenty of my Volvo pals have had nightmares with this guy. How he continues in business is beyond me.
