It depends pm how deep your wallet is. Bilsteins might be a shade hard for some but they are efficient and long lasting. Remember that good shocks need all of the bushings to be in the best possible health. If all is good with the bushings even Monroes will cope with NY for 20k miles or at least a couple of years for a fraction of the cost of Bilsteins. Swapping in a new set is easy. IMO of course and I know there will be bad comments about Monroes.
If you run around 4 up all the time or carry heavy stuff in the boot I'd agree that Monroes might have reduced life. The rear suspension of an Amazon is inherently soft and can benefit from stiffer springs if you do carry heavy stuff a lot
