By the smell of the gas tank and the mildew inside I'd be willing to bet this car sat a while. So I opened the windows and drained the gas tank for good measure. Found a cool little trick of disconnecting the fuel line coming out of the tank and crossing two fuses with a jumper to use the Intank pump to empty the tank rather than my POS hand pump, worked petty damn good IMO. Also picked up s new battery, oil and filer, air filter, and a fuel filter.

So at this point I have to admit I'm a datsun guy at heart

but I have a soft spot for lots of different old makes and models :)

So far everything had gone pretty much as planned ;)

Then the fuel filter was up next, and upon inspection I found out why the gas smell was so pungent
