Replacing power window motor? 200 1993

The passenger power window has suddenly stopped working. When toggling the switch up or down, I can hear the motor 'engage' a bit so I know it's trying to do something. I've traced power to the motor, so the switches and wiring seem to be fine. All other windows work as well.

The window is currently stuck in the 'up' position, and I am not able to move it at all, even when applying power. Nothing wants to budge, even when using my hand on the big gear to give it some rotational force. Nothing moves. I used silicon spray, let it sit, still nothing.

It sounds like I need to remove the motor and mechanism for service or replacement. Where can I find the removal procedure?

Is the motor serviceable, or do I need to replace it?

Any help/comments are greatly appreciated.

Thank.

Replacing power window motor? 200 1993

I finally got this fixed over the weekend. This might be over kill, and there may be faster ways to do it, but I have a tendency to want to clean things up if I have them apart. Here's a short list of things that may help others.

    - remove the glass from the scissors and door - not too difficult and covered in the widely available manuals.
    - I had to remove the motor while still attached to the scissors in the door. I could not remove the assembly as one unit. There might be a magic set of contortions, but I did not discover them.
    - I tested the old motor with a power supply, dead as door nail.
    - Motor disassembly and testing did not reveal any obvious defects
    - I found a nice replacement on ebay - many choices - the motor seems to be used in Mercedes vehicles as well.
    - I did not need to cut the wires - just use a small pick to pinch the 'ears' inward so the female connectors will slide out of the plastic housing. They are easily reformed by sliding them on the switch male connectors.
    - cleaning and lubricating everything resulted in much smoother operation - time to do the other doors!

    Thanks.

The motor is held on to the door with 3/4 10mm bolts. It can be removed without having to remove the glass from the scissor mechanism. The tricky part is fishing the wire harness out of the door from inside the cabin. If you get a replacement motor you can always just cut the wire inside the door then solder onto the wires of the new motor. Don't forget the heat shrink. Cutting the wire will faster.
