And Volvo would not tell you weather their new hyper-expensive ones were any better!
I guess that would mean admitting the originals were faulty.

I also lost respect for Volvo for there interior plastic parts. I would guess they were made out of a vinyl instead of something more durable like nylon.

I understand Volvo fell on hard times but for a company known for durability its inexcusable. Even the name Volvo must have lost value.

That said I bought an '81 242 DL in '86 with 90k miles. With and engine rebuild it now has a total of 307k miles and I plan on keeping it.
