Hi Clang2,

Bummer. I'm not the best guy to help you here, but nobody else has come forward so I'll take a shot. hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

You don't say if you can hear the main pump operate for a few seconds with the key on before cranking. The in-tank pump is not audible.

From your limited description, it may be a fuel problem and I would firstly want to know if the pump is working. If it's kicking it's likely you have spark.

If the pump is not operating, it could be the relay, the ECU, the pump itself, or any of the connections between them. Your pink 561 is suspect because it's been known to fail by not grounding the relay which powers the pump.

I may be wrong but I think you can eliminate both the ECU and the relay by jumping the fuel pump directly from the fuse box.

If possible, have your relative connect a jumper wire between fuses 6 and 4 with the key out. They should be able to hear the pump running under the car. If it is running, have then try and start the car with the jumper in place, and report back.

If it runs, you can drive it home like that, but you'll need to remove the jumper each time you stop or you'll drain the battery.

Peter
