A/C Universal Compressor Oil and Leak Detection 900 1995

"Do you think I should check the Orifice Tube while the system is open?"

Yes of course. Mainly because the OT has a filtering screen. Secondly because you need to wait for the new condenser to proceed. And being a filter you should check that they are clear/clean. Any stuck light debris you could clean them off using carb/brake cleaner. If the filtering screen is torn you'd need to replace it. Look for a TAN coloured OT made for Volvo with 0.071inch orifice. Or get replacement from your spare cars.

The OT pipe is located along the inner fender@passenger side of the engine bay. Use the 2 spanners arranged in V method to undo the nuts.

That steel plate is the condenser securing bracket to the car. Yes it might have gone rusty and eating away at the aluminium coils.

Regards,
Amarin.
