1988 245 rack rebuild kit source 200

My 1988 245 rack is leaking from the passenger side boot. The seal is not holding the ATF in very well. I'm certain it is a CAM rack, but there seems to be a few variations of CAM racks. Here is the only number on the unit: 34004827 LH. I'm looking for a rebuild kit (or just the passenger side seal inside the boot if available) since it otherwise seems to have many more years of service left. It gets rather confusing with variations of CAM CAM/TRW racks installed on later 240s. Thanks in advance.

Pinetucky,

go here:

You won't go wrong with there racks. I've used them twice and both times I've had a good product that went in nicely into both of my cars.

Before rebuilt racks were generally available and Volvo was just starting its re-manufactured line I worked in a Volvo Indy shop and rebuilt a number of 240 racks. Save yourself a lot of time and grief--just purchase a complete unit. - Dave
