Though don't take what I write here to heart. As this is the work of an incompetent:

Indeed, I titled the BrickPix (Photobucket SUCKS) exhibit "Water Pump Replacement by an Incompetent."
Of the dozens of Volvo RWD and other auto makes water pumps I've replaced, the most recent is the first real screw up on my part in 34 years?
Now while the water pump is installed with yet another new Volvo gasket and Volvo seals, well, we have slow coolant loss and not exterior to the engine on the 1990 Volvo 240 "li'l red" Wagon.
So, if squeaking, it means one or both of the sealed bearings have extreme wear, of it is a cheap pump, or well, who knows. Water pump lube probably does nothing as these are sealed bearings. Unless the seal is lost, or the factory lube grease pack spent.
Check the water pump lower weep hole for any coolant signs.
A wiggle of the water pump fan blade with the pulley belts slackened may reveal some play. The fan clutch bearing may also seem to have play. Lest you have the solid fan with no clutch.
Welp, there you go.
