oil filter socket 200

suggestions on which good quality socket for 240 filter? removed one filter a year ago, old filter was clearly old and very tight, used what we THOUGHT was a good filter remover, very unhappy. Thoughts? Want it quick and easy next time. Thanks!

I've tried various oil filter tools over the years. This is my favorite for both canister and cartridge insert (cup) type filters. One size fits all. 1/2" drive ratchet attaches to it.

I'm w you on the strap wrench. Had one that eventually got torn and frayed. Got another.

Plus you can use it to hold onto the cam and intermediate sprockets when replacing seals. Prob lots more uses too.

Get the one shown in the pic.

It would probably make a good tourniquet. You know - if you ever needed one while working on the car.

A 12 inch filter wrench works well.

I haven't had to use one on my Volvo's that I change. The filer should be hand tightened on and off.

I have the 2 smaller sizes of the tool pictured below.

    It is available from AutoZone.

Make sure you get the right size.

The smaller 1 removes the small filters used on the Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans I service and the next size up is what I use on most everything else.
