I would check that the pivots for the front wipers work freely. Disconnect the short link to the motor and operate the wiper arms by hand. They should rotate without any resistance. If they are binding you'll have to disassemble them to lube the shaft. I made my own "umbrella" seals out of a discarded antifreeze container to keep water out. - Dave
