Is the top of your air bpx lined with foam?

If so, it may be deteriorating, clogging the air filter.

Can you see somewhat through the filter when you hold it up to the sun?

In any event, when you buy a new filter, hold it up to the sun and see what a new filter looks like.

I read in a motorcycle book that when your machine is new, pull a plug and see what a proper spark should look like. That way, when you are stuck on a rainy night, you know what a nice fat, rich spark should look like.

been doing volvo, mb and bmw since 88. always use mann and never any complaints nor observations about clogging. yours is a mystery to me.

The OE air filter for 940, the one with blue foam gasket in blue box, is less restrictive than any Mann in my experience. But its almost twice as expensive. I used both before with no trouble in starting in my NA Bosch 940 with hot-wire AFM. As yours is a Regina 940 maybe its time to check the MAP sensor for any leaks.

This is the second post you've had for air filters I think.

My guess is that your coon dog chased a squirrel or possum or whatever into the
flapper valve of your air box.
Check out that flapper carefully in case there's a skunk or a weasel stuck in there.
Whatever you find stuck in there, I hope it's good eatin'.
