1972 142e 140-160

So, I continue exploring this '72 142e I acquired. Seems that the thing hasn't run for decades but it is RUST FREE so totally worth it but many things to do!

Feel silly but I don't seem open the air filter: one bolt to the fender comes off, OK, then there is a bolt under the filter attached underneath, 13mm, which just turns, stripped? The parts catalog does not show any such bolt...
Any ideas?

Also, anyone know where I can find exhaust parts for it, rear muffler, tail pipe?

The air filter assembly has 2 thread inserts imbedded in the plastic housing and they can come loose thus causing your problem.

You might be able to remove the bolt if you can pull up on the assembly while turning the bolt which will require an assistant.

New air filter assemblies appear to be available.

Since Volvo discontinued most if not all of the exhaust parts, aftermarket is all that is available. 1 of my suppliers offers just the tailpipe, but not the rear muffler. The do offer a complete system, but it's on back order. You may have to go to a muffler shop.
