I've had a similar problem with my 89 740 Gl. It started with the warning light in the dash thats supposed to warn you thats something wrong with the lights. It started to blink in the same speed as my left turnlight.But my left-turnlights were all ok. When I put on the headlights, then the wipers started to work, STRANGE. I found that my leftside headlight was not as bright as the right one. Voltagecheck=ok so, I thougt, ground problem???

And yes, it was. On the inner front sills, on the left ( behind air-filter-housing) and on the righthand side, there are some ground tags and connectors. After cleaning the tags and connectors on the lefthand side with an electronic contact cleaner, everything was ok.
