Heated mirrors 900 1993

Has anyone torn into the heated mirrors? My power mirrors pivot ok so I assume I'm pluged in ok. When I turn on the rear window defrost switch to the second, both, position I get two lit lights above the switch, no burned fuses in the fuse panel. If anybody has any ideas please give me a shout

Thanks

    Re: Heated mirrors 900 1993

Once you are sure they are not working, you can pull the switch (easiest) and check to make sure the switch is carrying current to the heated mirrors. The green/blue wire caries electricity to the mirrors on the earlier 700 series. If the switch is good, and still no heat, pull the door panels and check for voltage at the connector for the power mirrors. Green/blue wire again. If you have voltage there, check for about 6 ohms to ground on the lead to the heated glass.

    Re: Heated mirrors 900 1993

Sorry if this seems silly, given where you are from, but are you sure they aren't working? I've concluded that, in comparison to the rear defroster, they don't work as efficiently. When I first bought the car, I thought perhaps the mirror defrosters wren't working. It took clearly frosted mirrors and defrosting over a few minutes to see the difference...
