Installing ipd strut tower brace... 900 1992

Hi,

I ordered ipd's (TME's) strut tower brace earlier last month. ipd's instruction mentions that ABS-equipped 900 series will need to modify a bracket to install the brace. Well, my 940T has this bracket. Now I don't have a grinder which is what they suggested I use. Any other suggestion on how to trim off the bracket. It looks/feels like aluminum. Thanks for any suggestion.

George

George, a jig saw (using a metal-cutting blade) will work as well, just clamp a block of wood to the bracket that provides enough depth so that you will cut the bracket but not scar the strut tower behind the bracket. But a grinder would be best.

I cut down the bracket to install the Cherry Turbos strut tower brace in my 94 945T.

i used an air saw on my 1994 940t, it took about 30 seconds. if you dont want to do it yourself you can go to a car install shop and have them cut it for you. they would probably charge you $20
