Re: Expected life of a 740 700 1990

I currently own a 1990 740. THe reason I am replying is I had a 1978 244GL I bought when I was 16. My first car. As you can imagine, learning how to handle the clutch put quite a bit of strain on the old thing. I never touched the engine.. Never anything.. Did plugs twice in 3 years, changed the oil every 3 months, and put tons of hard miles on it. I put about 100 miles each workday on it, and for a while I was putting 600 miles on it each weekend. In a nutshell, I TRASHED it! But it took the abuse. I sold it when I was 19 to a friend. Still running strong. Not burning oil. Getting good gas milage.. perfect.. Always started every morning.. I swore by that car.. I depended on it. As far as I know, it's still running good.

The car had a b210 no turbo, and bosch electronic fuel injection..

I swear by volvo's B-series engines

I probably had at least 400k miles on it (HARD MILES). I dono, the odometer broke at 260k.
