REAR ANTI-SWAY BAR 700 1988

My 1988 Station Wagon 740 GLE does not have a rear anti-sway bar as 740 sedans have. Can I add such a sway bar to my wagon without encountering any large mechanical problems?

Yes, they bolt right on. All you have to do is get the sway bar and the brackets that fit the the rear axle.

Order a set from IPD. Make sure your front end parts are in good working order. Make sure the shocks are also in good working order. You will be amazed at the difference.

Re: REAR ANTI-SWAY BAR 700 1988

I have an '87 turbo wagon. It didn't have a rear sway bar either from the factory. A friend was installing an IPD set on his turbo sedan and gave me his. Since the front sway bar looked the same I left mine in place and installed the one from his car on the rear. I had to buy the brackets from the Volvo dealer but everything easily went on; less than 1 hr. work. Even the addition of the stock rear sway bar made a big difference, made the car seem much more balance and less body roll. I can only imagen what a larger diameter set from IPD would make the car feel like.
