OD Realy Failure 200 86

Hello. I'm Blane Gardner's son( I know, I don't know how I do it either...) Anywayz( can you tell I'm in High School), we just replaced the OD Relay in my Volvo 240 like 2 or 3 weeks ago, and it's already failed. I was wonering if any of Ya'll had any advice or chicken recipies. My car's an automatic, if that helps. Peace.

Mike --

If the wire going to the solenoid has frayed insulation, it can occasionally touch ground and short out. Sometimes this blows the fuse, but sometimes it burns open a small trace on the OR relay circuit board.

The picture below is an OD relay that I resoldered, but this relay also had a burned trace, which I repaired with the small bit of wire (pink insulation).

Examine yours to see if the copper trace is burned.
