Does anyone know if Leather seat skins are available for my 92 940? The back of my driver seat has a hole and I would like to replace the seatback skin. Where can i get one? Thanks!

You might consider a used seat from a wrecking yard. I recently replaced my seats with ones from a 940. That's much easier than fixing the ones you have.

Hint, they used lots of little hog rings to attach the leather and they are a pain. I just disassembled my old drivers seat and dealing with those little rings was a PITA.

To deal with those hog rings buy a good brand, like channel lock, big pair of diagional wire cutters and just cut them off. (Trying to straighten them and re-use is a major PITA!) Buy new ones from a marine store or other source like eastwoods and also buy a good quality pair of "hog ring pliers" it should be less than $15. I got my rings and pliers from Clarks Corvair Parts when I replaced the upholstery on my Corvair.

You can save time if you go to a hardware store (Ace?) and get a box of 100 pig rings and a set of pliers for the same. Real hog rings are way too big! I got the above for about 6 bucks two or three years ago at Ace.

The seat skin is leather only on the seat bottom and face of the backrest: all else is vinyl. Volvo OEM skins are $$$$$$$. See the FAQ for removal instructions and take it to an auto upholstery shop for a repair panel and dye.

Sam's club has some nice sheepskin covers that fit my 940 very nicely, they cost about $35 ea. They come in natural and dark grey, and cover the back of the seat as well (down to the top of the map pockets). Just a cheap cover-up idea.
