88 LH 2.2 no start 200 88

Ok the beast refuses to start. Cranks fine but no joy.

Coil (#1 wire) checks ok-test light flashes

25 amp fuse3 is ok as is holder

Fuel Pump relay checks ok

Pumps run when #4 and 6 are jumpered

I haven't gotten to the Main Relay yet (started raining and I'm working in the open)

So its either the main relay, the FI grounds on the engine or the ECU went to the South Pole, right?

Re: 88 LH 2.2 no start 200 88

Do you have fuel under pressure in the fuel rail? If you do, the main pump should be working. Do you have spark? Give us some more information.

Re: 88 LH 2.2 no start 200 88

So you are saying there a re no pumps running when not jumpered? But you have power at the fuel pump relay. Do you have power at the main pump when cranking?

Start there, and move back. If you don't, then its not likely that you have a good relay. If you do have power,do you have aprk at the plugs? In other words, fire all the way down the hole.

If not, i suspect you have an ICU dead. These things don't tend to have aBD ecu'S. If you need one, ther's one on ebay for 25$.
