B28F V-6 MILEAGE 200 1980

I have just aquired a 1980 Bertone with the v6 and 3 spd auto. my first full tank of gas seems to have netted 14.5 mpg. I do about 65 percent fwy driving at about 65 mph. This seems very low, even for the v6. Does anyone out there have similar experiences with the mileage. Maybe I need to change the spark plugs and distributor. I welcome input from anyone with a suggestion other than a ford 5.0 or b21 ft solution. thanks.

That's pretty good!!!!!!!!!! Maybe you could get it up to 15 mpg. But that's all I ever got in the 262C. It's the engine trans combo.....

Doesn't sound too improbable. Went to Sweden, Germany and Holland with my 265 last year and used 850 pounds worth of fuel (about 1275 dollars0 in 4000 miles. Admittedly fuel is about 80 pence a litre, 1.20 dollars approx, still drastic though.
