OBD II code display 900 1996

Any one knows of an OBD II code diplay divice out there for a 960 1996.

    Hi Carlos,

    I just sent away for an OBDII Scan device that connects between the OBDII connector on my '96 960 and my laptop computer. I haven't received it yet.

    It costs $99.00 and comes with windows software.

    I think it should work fine on our 960's.

    It's the least expensive scanner I've found.

    You must make sure to get the ISO-9141 version to be compatible with the Volvo OBDII format.

      I too am ready to buy one of the units to work with my PC. I also have a Palm so please let us know how it works!!!!!!

      It would be a great service to the other members of the BB with the OBD-II cars to get this feedback. (All '96, and later, cars.)

      I really like the idea of using a PC or Palm instead of the dedicated scanners as advertised in Rolling and other magazines.

        I don't think OBDII went into effect until 1996, so your '92 probably doesn't have an OBDII connector. The connector is under a plastic cover on the center console between the front seats. On my '96 960, the plastic cover says "OBD-II" right on it.

        I'll certainly hook the scan tool up when I get it and post the results.

        If it works on OBDII equipped cars, it'll be quite a bargain compared to paying a dealer to scan & clear the codes.

      I bought a similar one from Alex Peper but unfortunately it did not work with my 960 even though it was supposed to. Please e-mail me when you get yours and let me know if it works.
