High volume oil leak from passenger-back of block??? 200 1986

I have a 245 dl that sprung a bad oil leak. After some research I am still stumped. The leak is on the bottom-back-passenger side of the block. Is there a sending unit for the oil pressure there? There seems to be a nipple where a hose might have attached? The manual doesnt say. This is my only car and any knowledge would be much appreciated!!

    Morgan --

I vote firmly with Zee on his suggestion. The plug blew outta the head on my '86 245 when daughter was driving it back to school. Oil EVERYWHERE!!

I installed a new plug, and when she came home for spring break, I installed a retaining strap made from a scrap of aluminum flat stock.

Oil pressure sender is located on that side, but front, just behind the alternator.

Toward the back, is the draincock for the coolant. It is under the #4 cylinder, below the exhaust header.

Have you checked the exact rear of the engine to see is the cam plug has blown out some due to crankcase pressure from a plugged flame trap?

Feel down from the back of the valve cover. there is a round plug there about 2-3". ?It has been dknown to blow out. There is even a retaining plate the blts over it to prevent catastrophic loss.
