no start/no hear fuel pump/changed relay 200 84

Gentlemen, Still have no-start 84 240DL Automatic. Full tank (with gasoline), changed both relay boxes front/above passenger toes and tried a new ECU. Made no difference. It cranks appropriately but no start. No fuel to injectors. Do NOT hear fuel pump at any point. Queries: Could the pump (main inline) not be getting electricity? And, why is it not? Too, could it be the fuel inject presure unit which preceeds the injectors? How to determine? May not be using proper name for thing just before injectors, but you fellas know what all those things are. Can't change everything. Know what I mean. OK experienced ones, What other relay/boxes/switches,gizmos,fixes?

Thank you, C

    Got spark?

The pump relays must first detect spark before they power the pumps. No spark means no gas.

If you DO have spark, next check the 25-amp spade-type fuse under the hood, left side, clipped to the metal strut -- it's near the hi-lo relay. This fuse powers the FI system and tends to corrode easily.

Also examine the end of the fuse holder "pigtail" (red wire) where it attaches to the battery -- another common failure point.

If you want to force the pumps, jump fuse #5 to #7. This will power both pumps even with the key off. Use this trick as a diagnostic only.
