Re: I'm cornfused...... 200 1980

Are you just replacing stock horns? If so piece of cake, just plug and play - find the original source of horniness in front of radiator behind "grill" (I said grill not girl) and replace...although the norny body or mounting screw may need to be electrically isolated. (If not you'll be horny all the time)

What is it you want?

Re: I'm cornfused...... 200 1980

Thank you for replying!

Well I want to take out the stock horns and replace them with

a horn compressor and the two long horns. It says to attach the

12v wire to the positive side of the battery. Is that wire already

in my car or do I have to buy one from NAPA.

On top of that where would I place the compressor?

Thanks

PS

I can scan the (its very little) instructions they sent me, if you like?

I read And I sorta understand, but the wires confuse me.

Re: I'm cornfused...... 200 1980

Not knowing the size of the compressor, I can help you there. You'll just need to dind a good spot close to the front. Will the long horns fit in front of the radiator behind the grill?

What I would do is use the existing horn wire to trigger a relay. This would be the low current side. This low side could be thought of as your existing horn circuit. Push horn button relay clicks (switches). On the switched high side will be your new compressor this will need to be fused and the power source will indeed be the +12V from the battery. Use the little bus bar on the inner fender right next to the battery. (It has a bunch of red wires to it) The relay, wires and fuse (20 amp?) should be available at NAPA.

Thanks,

No the horn doesn't fit behind the grill but i guess a little drilling somewhere is going to have to place!
