Intermittent Coolant Leak at Head Gasket 200 80

So I've been slowly getting my project into driveable condition and I have noticed a strange coolant leak.

It appears to be leaking from the head gasket right above the water pump. The strange thing is that it only leaks at cold startup, maybe a tablespoon or two, and then stops leaking. It doesn't appear to leak again until the next cold startup.

What gives?

Is it possible that retorquing the head will stop the leak?

Is it possible that it is actually the water pump gasket leaking?

If I am doomed to replace the head gasket, what other things should I be "fixing" while I've got it apart?

Thanks Folks!

There is a rubber seal between the waterpump and the head gasket, replaceably by pulling the pump. I'd eliminate that before condemning the head gasket.

    Regards

Aaah! I like that kind of answer, I'll try that seal first.

      Thanks Pete!

I have the same problem, but leaking a lot more and a lot of white exhaust when ever I start up. I replaced the water pump and the suspect gasket and I am still leaking and adding quite a bite of water. Its time for a head gasket and all the other things that should be done.
