amazon exhaust hell...help 120-130 66

help. i am in amazon exhaust hell. my amazon with b20, fuel injection head, ipd goodies to 2.2L etc. is cooking its exhaust gaskets, and making the down pipes glow red. it is not running lean. i just replaced the head gasket, exhaust manifold(freshly milled on both sides)new gaskets, new 2 1/4 exhaust. what am i missing? i do not want my car to become a fireball.

Your ignition is retarded. Fix it soon or damage manifold and

pipes.

I set mine to 21-24° BTDC at idle. If it has vacuum, LEAVE IT CONNECTED.

If it speeds up, adjust idle speed at carbs and recheck, because

you don't want to get up into centrifugal advance rpm.

If you get excessive pinging/pinking under heavy load, back it off

2 or 3°.

You'll find cooler running and a lot more power.
