Idle too high? 200 1985

I replaced the intake manifold gasket on my B21FT engine last week and now the idle seems too high after the car warms up. Cold idle is about 1100 RPM(after I plugged IAC back in) and the same for idle under load. But warm idle no load is about 1500 RPM. I seem to remember something on the board a couple of weeks ago about adjusting CIS and maybe having to bypass it to set base idle? I looked in the archives but all the links seem to be broken. Can anyone help me out on this?

Re: Idle too high? 200 1985

Is your throttle body closing fully, and is the idle air switch adjusted right, and how is your wiring harness? If you removed the manifold you likely disturbed the wiring harness. I made the mistake of doing that and it was game over. I had to replace the whole wiring harnes.

Re: Idle too high? 200 1985

Yes the wiring harness is starting to go. I had checked it previously and had not seen any signs of degradation except at the hot spot behind the alternator which I fixed. When I took off the manifold I had to tape up several wires and also wires at the firewall connector which had seemed fine before. I'm not sure that is the problem though. The throttle position switch is properly adjusted and the throttle body and idle air motor are clean. When I first put it back together I forgot the idle air connector and cold idle was about 750RPM. After I reconnected it the cold idle went to about 1000 but the warm idle was unaffected so I believe the idle air motor is working. I remembered to check the 700-900 FAQ after my original post but am not sure the info I found is applicable to the B21FT as so many things are slightly different with the Turbo engines. Any help on that anyone?
