EGR Solenoid replacement - where? how? 200 1992

My perennial check engine light is reported by the dealer to be due it needing a new EGR solenoid, about $100 for the part and $30 for the labor. If true, the pricing tells me the labor is easy and I can get the part elsewhere for much less. The mechanic also said it doesn't affect anything except it will likely be unable to pass CA emissions (NOX?) without fixing.

Where is the EGR solenoid and are there any special considerations to replace?

Minor rant: BTW, I dropped $300 during that visit to the dealer for several things I probably could have done myself. I asked to talk to the mechanic in an attempt to have him point out some things (such as where the EGR solenoid is)and you would have thought I wanted to see OZ. Finally they took me back to the repair area and when I asked the mechanic where this solenoid is, he stood back about 10 feet from the car and pointed to the engine compartment! Thanks to him, I think it is under the hood somewhere. Unfortunately the dealer is very close to my office (convenient) and the Indy's are a long ways away.

I never liked the dealer. They have all the info in the world when it comes to your car and they just play dumb until you handing them your arm and leg. We carry just about everything for your car, brand new and original, for a fraction of the prices from the dealer. If you are interested in getting any quotes, I can be reached at (888) 262-3911 or by email at bmaparts@earthlink.net.

It's under the hood, mounted to a bracket that shares the P/S reservior and ignition coil. It's basically round, hes two vavuum lines, 1 yellow, 1 white, and one 2 wire electrical conector with a brown plastic plug. Takes about 2 minutes to replace with a torx screwdriver.
