replacing strut and shock mounts on front 700 1990

Is this a difficult project? I want to replaced the strut and shock mounts on the front end...have 188T miles now abd the struts were replaced at 154T, but I don't think the mounts were replced....I will will need to redone the front end alignment...

Any help is always appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: replacing strut and shock mounts on front 700 1990

See the 700/900 FAQ. At this mileage, you might as well rebuild your front end with new:

-bushings (control arm, control rod, sway bar)

-tie rod ends

-ball joints

-strut mounts

The only tools you will need will be a JC Whitney coil spring compressor and some metric sockets, including deepwall, to remove various suspension components. Get a big breaker bar as well. The top strut nuts can be removed with an electric torque wrench (Harbor Freight or Home Depot).
