Crankshaft Bolt 200 89DL

Okay, here's the dumb question for the day, but like I said in my previous post, I am new to DIY maintenance. I want to adjust the timing belt on my 240, but I'm not sure which one that is. Is it the one behind the cover plug?

Also, I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum to address this question, but ever since I started working on my car, I've come to really love auto mechanics. And basically I was wondering hiw one goes about becoming a certified Volvo mechanic. Is there a school somewhere? or do you become ASE certified first? Just wondering.

Peace,

Mikey B

PS thanks to all for advice on my fuel injectors!

Re: Crankshaft Bolt 200 89DL

Mikey, yes it's the rubber plug on the upper cover. Take a ratchet to the Crank bolt and give it and eighth turn CCW and that will let all the slack sit in the correct spot for the tensioner. 17 mm wrench to through the hole and loosen it a bit and retighten....done.

Mikey

Check the 700/900 FAQs for all the timing belt date.
