Window Tinting

I try to figure out some window tinting aspects.
I plan to let it done by pros.
When I see some cars driving around, I noticed
that on the rear window where the window heat
wires are, some tinting foil has bubbles.
Some cars really a lot around the wires.
I wonder if this has something to do with
the tinting material quality or rather
with the experience/quality of the workers
who do the tinting job.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Window Tinting

Typically, those tints also turn purple.

I'd wager it's moreso the material. But then, places that use that kinda crap don't hire better talent either. It's all about cost.

Personally, I'd avoid the "$69" special places. You are going to get what you pay for.

Since I do dread spending more than how much my '74 costed, I'm going the DIY route on my '91. The larger, flat windows of the wagon is easier than a curved rear window of a sedan.

Some months ago, Nick Choy wrote up an excellent primer on DIY window tinting. Do a search for it here.
