Which Toyota (or other) pwr steering box fits in a 120? 120-130

I have been informed that there is a toyota power steering box that pretty much bolts into the 120. Do you know which toyota it comes from? Or do you know of another power steering box that will do the trick?

If you get the answer to this, please let me know also. Do you know if there are steering boxes with lighter steering one could just bolt in 120? Not powered I mean.

I have a Toyota brake booster on my 122. Is it possible that your informant was confused? Power steering sounds like a BIG project.

First I have heard of this, but it doesn't surprize me. Volvo has always purchased off-the-shelf stuff. No expertise, but my best guess is to look at Toyota pickups from the late '80s. If you find a box that fits, the pump will be a simple matter of making brackets to bolt it to the motor. You can use the A/C compressor holes for mounting.

good point, the small pick-ups would be a good place to start. Maybe I'll find a small diesel pick-up and swap the engine/drivetrain in as well. This simple little car no lomger challenges me...

PLEASE!!! No diesels. If you just want to go slow and make lots of noise, put a Hyundai Pony engine in it.

Dude, I can use used fat fryer grease to power a diesel, how cool is that? You drive along smelling like Burger King! I even know of a guy who is paid to remove the waste oil behind a restaurant, he takes it home, adds a little lye and methanol, mixes it up and voila! free fuel!!!! Don't worry, I'll keep the original stuff for later, it's january, I've got some spare time and I'm bored.
