The first (and easiest) thing to check would be the fuel pump relay. It's located behind the fuses in the row of relays. I think it's the third from the left, but someone else will need to verify that; I can't exactly remember right now.

Anyway, when you find the car in the no-start situation, remove the ashtray, and jiggle the relay (Jiggle them all if you're unsure which one). If the car then starts, you've found the problem. $0 to resolder, or less than $25 to replace.
