Somebody out there MUST know the answer 900

People
If I replace a B200F non turbo engine with a B200FT turbo engine, will it run in my 940. If not, what will I need to change (I have the complete donor car)
Thanks

That is a very general question. If you change the engine, engine wiring harness, ECU, EZK(ignition computer), exhaust, and everything else that comes with the donor car, of course it will run. It just depends on how much work you want to go to, and what your skills are.

Ive checked about 25% of the wiring and it's the same. Also, the Haynes manual wiring diagrams seem to indicate that they're the same. Also, the wiring diagrams shown at www.thespecialist.f9.co.uk show the pin connections to the ECU from each sensor as being the same, so the looms must be the same? That just leaves things like the AMM/air filter (the filter's larger) and the exhaust pipe/muffler system which I have also. Does it matter if it's a Garrett or Mitsubishi turbo? Thanks guys.

Are both cars Motronic? It makes no difference on Garrett or Mitsubishi turbo. The EZK unit is most likely different. There may be throttle switch differences. The NA LH cars have a full throttle switch input, while the turbo LH cars do not (unless Turbo+). Engine wiring harnesses do not interchange from year to year on LH cars, and Motronic is probably the same. While the connections at the ECU may be the same the interconnecting harness ends between the ECU harness and the engine harness are probably different. They are for most LH cars sold in North America.

Both cars use EZ116K and LH2.4 Jetronic. As they use the exact same connections, these should be interchangable? Also, is there a difference in fuel pump pressures.
Thanks again

You should be okay. The ECU and EZK units are different for turbo cars. I do not know your exact application, but I expect the main pump is different.

To be safe, make sure the slotted ring (drilled flywheel periphery on manual xmxn) is the same, or use the part from the turbo. Turbos use AW 71 automatics, and NAs use AW 70 automatics. Manual xmsn NA cars use J type OD while turbo cars use P type OD.

Thanks for the help and support. I'll change the ECU and EZK to be on the safe side. I will also change over the fuel pump ...just in case.. I'll let you know how I get on, whether it's a success or not. I'll probably do it in a few weeks time, when I'll have a week off (and providing my own engine keeps going lol)
Regards
Pat
