Removal of 240 Turbo Guages and Sender Units? 200 1984

I found a '84 244 Turbo today at the junkyard that hadn't been torn apart too badly yet. It had the three piece guage setup plus the small clock and an oil temperature guage. I've never seen one of these before, is it rare? Anyhow I grabbed the guages today with intentions of going back tomorrow to get anything else. I really want to grab the sender units for the oil pressure and temperature guages but I'm not really sure where they are or how to get them off. I didn't have time today but I was thinkin just follow the main guage harness to where ever it goes. What else should I grab off this car? Unfortunately it didn't have the turbo rims I've been desperately looking for for my '88 744. I don't really need any parts from it for any of my cars but I always like to have parts for sale or trade. Should I grab the swaybars? I also found a sweet set of 185/70 r14 hakkapeliitta 1 snow tires in a bimmer. I don't need them but should I grab them also for future endeavors? Thanks for any help.

Removal of 240 Turbo Guages and Sender Units-how to: 200 1984

ok, i've done this a few times at the yard so here it is: you've got the guages, get the wiring harness that goes from the back of the tack to the small clock, there should also be a harness for the guages. the oil temp guage sender is the oil pan drain plug, the oil pressure sending unit is behind the alternator and i find it is easiest to take the alternator out for access. turn the sender off of the brass elbow that goes into the block and then take the elbow out. 16mm wrench to take off the sender (hex nut on the bottom) and then 14mm for the copper elbow, i think. it's good to take the long wire that goes down to the oil temp sender and note how it isCrouted. actually, i could use one of those temp senders (a mechanic bottomed my car out and scraped the electrical blade connection off) so if you're selling...
have fun with it,
jeremiah

I won't be able to get the senders today but hopefully as soon as possible I'll head over there. Either way I'd be glad to sell any of the guages. My e-mail is notsogneiss@aol.com if you are interested.

The oil pressure sender is in the block just behind the alternator. I think a replacement drain plug acted as the sender for the oil temp, and required a additional wire be run to it.
