'90 780.. Searching for my fusible link. Help ! 700 1990

At this point I'm not too sure what I did.
I'm positive a fuse blew somewhere.
While tightning the + on the battery I made contact with -.
The car stalled, and when I tried to restart, Nothing !.
The dummy lights barely come on, the gauges don't work, neither do the accessories.
Someone who works on Mitsubishi's for a livin' told me to look for the 'fusable link' Maybe he doesn't know Volvo?
Where do I start.
I checked all the fuses, all look OK.
Relays?
Hope someone can help.
I can't be the only one that has done this before.
Thanks
K C

It sounds as if you shorted the battery connector to connector or plus connector to chassis with a BIG spark. This will not blow fuses or damage anything upstream from the battery but would only damage the battery or the cables.
From your description you are not getting full 12V from the battery to critical circuits. This does not indicate a blown fuse but rather a bad battery or connection You may have fried an already weak battery or you may have have burned the negative cable through or its connection may be bad.
I think you should clean both battery connections, check condition of battery and the cables.
If you have a meter or test light the problem will be real easy to diagnose by looking at the voltage level at the battery and moving along the cables from there.
What was the original problem which you were trying to fix?

I just cleaned off the corrosion on the terminals after the car sat for 5 weeks.
It was the third battery from R&S that I had replaced in 13 months.
By the third one, I was fed - up and had one of their techs hook it up.
That dumbnut forgot the felt and the rubber protectors that I specifically asked for. I couldn't take it anymore, so I left, never getting around to it.

I hope your right about the battery. I'll check it tonight, and let you know.
Thanks
Ken
