Amsoil question-calling Pablo S. 700 1992

Will Amsoil AGR Synthetic Gear Lube work in my diff. without any LSD additives? They claim it will but I just wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with this.
Thanks
Don Tibbetts

For the listeners out there, AGR is the Amsoil "regular grade" 75W-90 synthetic gear lube (As opposed to the slightly more expensive top of the line Series 2000 75W-90 gear lube)

Anyhow both will work fine without the additive, or you can add the additive if you like.

What they won't do is quiet an already worn/noisy limited slip differential.

Thanks Paul. The diff's fine, I'm just changing most of the fluids as preventive maintenance because I just got the car a little while ago. I just wanted to make sure that I understood the Amsoil website right.
Thanks again
Don

Don-
Do yourself a favor and (if you haven't already ordered) get the TGR Series 2000 gear lube. The owner of a Saab/Volvo shop tried it when it first came out, and said he felt as much difference between that and the AGR as he had between the AGR and non-synthetic.
I don't even stock the AGR any more--

Good point - I've never actually used or sold AGR. For the small difference in price the the Series 2000 gear lubes - 75W-90 (TGR) and 75W-140 (TGO) are way better!!!!

I figure with gear oil, the amount you use is so small (relative to engine oil for example) and the length of service is so long....that I use the absolute best.

Dick
Thanks for the tip. I'm kind of a dummy. I ordered the stuff and then as an afterthought I decided to get some feedback.

I already ordered the AGR but I may take your advice anyway. I'm using the AGR in my truck and there's no way that I'll be able to leave that in there for too long due to the fact that I'm sure I'll get some water in there. I may wait on changing the diff fluid in my brick until I can order some of the good stuff. I've got to order some more stuff anyway.

I kinda figured yours was fine, but some people think of me as "Mr Snake-Oil"...and then the next assumption is that synthetic lubes can fix mechanical problems!!

Let us know how it works. Wish I had a LSD!
