Diesel specs 700

Hi all
I have been thinking about buying a 740/760 TD since gas prices are crazy here in Denmark. I am hooked on performance which is why I would like info on:
- How much horsepower and torque does the D24T have (preferably Euro specs)?
- How do you modify a diesel engine for performance? Links would be appreciated.

Hope you can help me out.
Take care
Mads

My 740 D24T is pretty nice, would be nicer with intercooler, more boost, larger exhaust, and a decent spaced 5 speed.OD manual transmission. Automatics are ok but a manual really lets you rev and run if you are into performance driving. The D24 is a member of the VW-Audi-Volvo high reving diesel family that gives them their go vs. older slow reving ancestors.

You can turn the pump up by increasing the mixture ( email me for more detailed instructions) , and advancing the pump timing will give it a good little kick too ( but will reduce fuel milage some )
Adding a low restriction air filter does wonders too ( I use an Amsoil Air filter on my '84 240 diesel , gave it a nice little boost, and yes I sell the stuff, shameless plug) Also running the synthetic oil helps( especially with cold starting)

Hi,

If it is intercooled, 122 hp/5000 rpm and _a_lot_ of torque.

Good luck

Here's a useless fact that might interest you. The 7 TDs, when first introduced in the UK, were allegedly the fastest and fastest accelerating wheezils you could buy. In UK trim they were good for maybe 135 BHP.
If I were you, living in Denmark and all, i'd consider getting a petrol brick and going for an LPG conversion (for our US chums, LPG is taxed differently across most of the EU and costs less than 1/2 the price of petrol in many countries).

Good luck, whatever you decide,

Big Rich.
